Zbrush was something that I’ve played with off and on since about 2008, but I only had enough knowledge to moosh that ‘ball’ around..nothing productive. Over the years I would watch all of the Pixologic conferences on Youtube and became more and more excited about Zbrush with each update. I tried to take a class in person but, for a 2D artist it was just too fast paced for me. I needed to be taught as if I didn’t know what a pencil was. I wanted to start using Zbrush for turnarounds here at Marvel, but I knew that no matter how many videos I tried to decipher on Youtube I would need a leg up.. ENTER XANDER! I had a former student who I thought had all the promise in the world, his own artistic voice and more importantly for my selfish needs.. he was a wiz at 3D. He graciously agreed to come to my house in Burbank and hold my hand as we navigated Zbrush. I paid him a totally of $400 for 2, three hour sessions and that time was invaluable to me! Thank you @XanderSmith_Design !
